Stem cells are basic cells that have yet to be delegated as a special type of cell. In the body, these cells divide to form additional cells known as daughter cells. The daughter cells either become specialized cells that have a specific purpose or they become new stem cells. The process is part of a medical specialty referred to as regenerative medicine.
