Comprehensive Exams for New Patients

Each of our new patients undergoes a comprehensive exam that includes orthopedic and neurological testing. We perform a full evaluation of your nerve, skeletal and muscle structure in order to determine the best course of treatment to recommend. Our tests include nerve sensitivity, reflex tests, orthopedic tests and range of motion tests. We might also order an MRI or X-rays if needed for a more accurate diagnosis.

Our neuromusculoskeletal specialists and postural specialists can thoroughly evaluate your condition and come up with a treatment plan for pain relief. We use diversified chiropractic adjustments to ensure patient safety during each treatment session. Some of the techniques we offer include:

  • Gonstead
  • Palmer method
  • Activator Technique.

The Gonstead and Palmer methods involve manual adjustments to realign the spine, while the Activator Technique involves using a hand-held device to apply gentle force to the spine in order to relieve stiffness and pain.

Massages for New Patients

Each patient receives a free 20-minute therapeutic massage that is designed to provide some degree of relief depending on their condition. When you make an appointment with us, this massage is included along with your exam. Keep in mind that we offer a wide range of massage techniques, including therapeutic, deep tissue, sports massage, myofascial and hot stone massages. Therapeutic massages are designed to ease discomfort and tension, while deep tissue massages are able to reach muscles that are far below the surface of your skin for pain relief. Sports massages help ease muscle tension and other kinds of discomfort associated with physical activities. Myofascial massages offer relief from ongoing pain caused by fibromyalgia or other conditions, while hot stone massages used heated stones to ease muscle tension.

Combined Care for Chronic Pain

Chiropractic care is not the only type of care you will receive at our facility. We also have a medical doctor on site who offers non-narcotic pain management for patients with back, neck, and joint pain. This type of treatment can be combined with other forms of care, including trigger point injections, joint injections, acupuncture, physical therapy, massage therapy and chiropractic adjustments. After your exam, we will recommend combined care if needed, which depends on the cause of your pain and any other factors that could affect treatment.

How do you say thank you to Superman!!! I have suffered with vertigo for 3 weeks, and been scared to death to drive or sailing my boat in the harbor. I even went to see another chiropractor last week, who adjusted me and bragged about himself and how great he was, but what a waste he was. My vertigo was worse the next day and he apparently didn't know the correct treatment. Desperate to find another chiropractor and also calling ENT MD's, I stumbled across this very local chiropractor, Dr. Rick. I called to be sure he knew how to do a specific treatment I learned was ONLY for vertigo patients. He was so personable, his receptionist gave him my call and he spoke to me, explaining what needed to be done, and that he had treated it many times before. When I spoke to him on the phone, I knew that he really did know this specific treatment just for vertigo, since he called it by name. Finding Dr. Rick was miracle!!
